Gauge tapping clogged?

After a boil, as the condensate returns, the water level in my gauge glass goes way up - over the top of the glass - but it's a false reading. It's like there's a syphon holding it up there. If I draw a cup of water out of the blowdown, it drops back to the actual water level - 1/2 up glass. Do I have a clog in the upper tapping?

Not likely.
I'm thinking if the upper fitting was clogged, the air in the glass would compress and the water column in the glass would rise only a little, if any at all.
