You can add a layer of control if it has a floor sensor feature. Tekmar, HBX, Uponor and others have radiant specific thermostats.

I like the Ecobee for a nice, easy to understand wifi stat.

The Nest seems to be the most challenging thermostat to wire and control.

I'll put a shout in for Ecobee.

It will predict how long your system takes to heat up taking outdoor temp into account (internet provided data). It can start the heat demand before you're actual schedule calls for it. The other thermostats do this too.

There are options to set minimum run time etc.

Through an app "beestat" you can see more historical detailed data including graphs of how fast the space heats up based on outdoor temperature.

Downside, it only schedules in half hour increments. It also uses more power from C wire compared to others.

A thermostat is a thermostat, for the most part. Unless you plan on trying to monitor floor temp, a basic stat will d the job just as well as something fancy. I like the Honeywell T4 for a basic unit, personally, but it really comes back to what sort of control you're looking for
