Pilot regulator type on a Cleaver Brooks
Cleaver Brooks CB 200-30. On the burner now is a Maxitrol 325-3 regulator which is a lever lockup type regulator but in the parts list in the manual it says the pilot regulator is a Maxitrol R400S which is a balanced valve non-lockup type. Does this make a big difference? Should it be replaced with the one specified in the manual?

Either regulator will work as the pilot regulator as long as the incoming gas pressure does not exceed it's pressure rating. That said, to find out which one is allowed on that boiler system, look for the insurance certificate which is supposed to be displayed in a conspicuous location in the vicinity of that boiler. Call the phone number for the insurance company listed on that certificate to find out which one or both are acceptable for that installation. The insurance that covers that boiler usually determines what controls are acceptable.
