Gas wall heater won't turn on

Hi Everyone. I have a gas wall heater Empire GWT-35-2 controlled by Ritetemp thermostat. It was working fine and then stopped. At first, when I jumped THTP and TH it would start, then I removed the jumper and it would continue working for a short time and then turn off again. I'm getting 450 mV on thermopile, however, I'm not getting any voltage through the thermostat. I've tried different thermostat and shortening the wires at the thermostat with no luck. I also use different wires while trying alternative thermostat, also no lack. Is there any chance that there might be something within the gas valve itself that causes this? BTW, when I jump THTP and TH and the heater fires, then I get 150 mV between THTP and TP. It seems low and might indicate an issue within the valve. Any help is appreciated.

Could be a bad thermopile. You need around 200mv with the valve energized. That is the most common failure point. Supply House.com has them.

But first go on You Tube. Look for "AC SERVICE TECH" "HOW 750MV THERMOPILE WORKS"

His videos are excellent, and he can explain it better than I can.
