Is this a knockoff?
I recently had a radiator stop getting super hot (steam) and I wanted to change out the condensation trap as the likely culprit. The cap to the trap said no17c which matches others in my building. When I attempted to replace with a 3500 it didn’t fit and then I noticed the body was significantly different as well as the old trap inside. I suspect someone swapped caps and this is not a Hoffman 17c trap. It also looks to be of inferior quality. Ultimately I swapped the whole angle valve out and put in a new valve. Can anyone identify the trap on the right?

I think Hoffman made some changes depending on the age of the old trap. I could be mistaken. Maybe @Gordo or @Steamhead will comment

@Msteam1 , @EBEBRATT-Ed is right. Hoffman redesigned the 17C body because the current type of "Dura-Stat" stainless-steel capsule is so much smaller. However, its air throughput is less than the older style so you may find radiators with Dura-Stats heat more slowly.
