Crown Boiler Pressure

I have a crown boiler cxe-5 that feeds a forced air furnace as well as a holding tank for hot water. I was getting some sediment in my hot water so following another pages advice I drained a bit of water from the boiler to see if it cleared the sediment. It did not but my main issue now is that I can’t rebuild the pressure in the boiler. The circulator runs but it seems it just passed water through the system and never fills.

The boiler feed (make-up) water valve may be shut off. The boiler water and the holding tank water may be isolated from each other by a heat exchanger. System pictures may help.
