I installed a two zone system over 20 years ago. Two plug-in Taco 006 pumps , one for each zone. Each line voltage thermostats was connected to it's own transformer to run the pumps.
4 or 5 years ago I changed the thermostats to smart thermostats and add plug in transformers for the c wire at the thermostats.
I now want to pull thermostat wire to eliminate the plug in transformers.
Do I need two new transformers? One transformer and a relay? is there a better way than either of those choices?
