Staple up Heating
I am looking at adding staple up radiant heating in my kids room, which is on the northwest corner of the house. The room is colder than most in the house and want to warm it up without using a space heater and since I already have a boiler I want to utilize that. I currently have cast iron baseboard heaters on 2/3 of the north and west walls. I am planning on adding a run from the boiler using 1/2" pex and aluminum transfer plates. I am also going to put foil face foam board below the tubes with r13 Batts below that. My main question is will 1 run between floor joist be enough or do I need 2 runs between floor joist. I am in west central Ohio so winters are usually mild. Thanks for any input.

no harm in running two loops, it really depends on how many BTU you are wanting to move to the floor. What type of floor covering?
No need for the foil back if you use transfer plates, at least a 6" fiberglass batt, however.
I would consider using UltraFin and run it the same temperature as the baseboard. No need to add a mixing station.

I looked into the Ultra Fin, looks like a great option that I'm going to use. The floor covering for the room is carpet.

Why not a flat panel radiator? It would be a lot easier. Runtal for example.
