Help me choose between two boilers - IBC SL 20-160G3 vs Lochinvar WHB-155N

Hi! I really need some help choosing between two boilers, specifically the IBC SL 20-160G3 and the Lochinvar WHB-155N. The Lochinvar is $ more than the IBC. My understanding are both models are really good, though Lochinvar is more well known.

The IBC SL has a lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger, covering it at 25% after year 11. The Lochinvar has a 15 year warranty on the heat exchange AND tank, covering 30% on year 15 and more before that.

That's about all I know from a consumer's standpoint. Which do you feel is a better buy? Will one have lower running costs than the other? Or will replacement parts and service be cheaper and/or more available for one of the two?

Thank you!!

I'm a lochinvar guy and have had very good luck with them. I put Lochinvar in everywhere I get a chance. IBC I have not installed but I hear good things about them. Lochinvar has a very good factory rep in my area and tech support is really good for the most part. Parts are readily available which is a huge plus when choosing. If you can't get parts it doesn't matter what you put in. Everything breaks at some point

Now comes the good part. It's more important to choose the right contractor. I don't think you can stress that enough. Most manufacturers put out pretty good equipment. Most issues that I have encountered with boilers is that they are not installed correctly. whether its the lack of proper piping Technics or the control strategy. Every contractor wants to be a boiler guy. The problem is you have to put the time in. There are no shortcuts. Especially MOD-CON boilers. They are not plug and play devices. Make an error and you'll pay for it. Cast iron boilers are a lot more forgiven.
