Problems with a thermostatic mixing valve in a steam shower

I've installed a Kingston Brass shower valve in a client's steam shower. He leaves it set at 100 degrees, and thermometer readings show that it hold within a couple of degrees of that setting.

Our problem is that after running the steamer, shower temperature is up around 112-115. Hoping for some insight why this might be happening.

Thanks in advance!

Might be water from the steam generator is back flowing into the shower line or maybe the two pipes are in close contact. Steam carries a lot of BTUs. would a check valve on the cold water supply to the steam generator help? I have always insulated the steam line to the steam head.

Thanks. Not insulated, but also not close. I think I will give the check valve a try.

    A spring loaded check valve.

    A good idea.

If the shower valve is too close to the steam, it is possible that the shower might falsely read the temperature and become confused.

Try the check first. Then look to see if the steam is affecting the mixing/shower valve.
