Old Garage coal radiator heat

Found this old one while at an estate sale down the street from where I live. It was in the garage. I’m guessing it was coal fired? Anyone have insight into it? Keeps your new Ford model A warm !

    Gravity hot water in an uninsulated garage. Awesome!

    Trying to squeeze the best out of a Weil-McLain JB-5 running a 1912 1 pipe system.

    We've seen the remains of a few of these in Baltimore. They were installed before there was automotive antifreeze.

    I think I understand how simple they operated. Did you just let the fumes enter the garage or was there some sort of smoke pipe that I'm missing?

    The flue pipe is in the back of this boiler Scott.
