Hi all!
Thanks so much in advance for the help. My wife and I recently moved into a house with hydronic radiant heat via an old 1991 Lochinvar Efficiency Plus boiler.
The unit is short cycling about every two minutes. I believe the problem is either the taco circulation pump in the middle and/or the heat exchanger. I know how to change the pump...but not idea how to go about cleaning this sort of heat exchanger. Any advice or thoughts?
My understanding is this system has a handful of problems (most notably an old iron cast boiler with two zones that are not oxygen separated). I plan to tackle these issues over time (we don't use those zones today), but the short cycling seems like a more urgent issue.
Thanks so much!
