Do you guys use reflective insulation behind the radiator?
Worth buying ?
Can it just be leaned against the wall, or does it need to be affixed ?
Any specific package you'd recommend here?

If there was a LARGE benefit to insulating behind radiators, everyone would be doing it. I don't see that happening in my years of experience.
That particular insulation is used on ductwork in many areas.
As far as between the outside wall and the radiator the insulation should be inside the wall between the outdoor siding and the inner wall finish (plaster or sheetrock).
You really like to think about every possibility, don't you?

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Looks like foil is legit. I will make my own with cardboard and foil.
