Nest Power Connector - Jumper
As I seem to be on the "bridge to nowhere" with google, is there anyone with knowledge as to what the onboard jumper in the nest power connector does? According to the pro installation manual, if connecting the power connector to an external transformer, the jumper needs to be removed. Because of the location of the thermostat, pulling a new cable is not an option and the taco SR506 only has a 15VA transformer. In the past, I have used venstar common makers with an external transformer and isolation relays. That is an option with the power connector, but I am curious as to what the jumper does. What circuit is it breaking within the power connector? Any help is greatly appreciated!

You want to hardwire the nest , it needs clean power to work properly …
