My first thoughts gas pressures and adjustments . What are they ?

First of all, make sure you have an LP boiler. Don't laugh, it happens a lot, especially if you're getting them from online suppliers. If not, no big deal, just get a conversion kit. It's no big deal to convert, just replace the blue, NG orifice with a red one and change parameter AO to LP. Don't make any adjustments on the gas valve, everything is ready to go right from the factory. Make sure your incoming gas press doesn't drop below 8"w.c. during ignition attempts and sure be no higher than 13.5"w.c.

Is this a new LP tank? Rinnai boilers, even with the best-purged tanks, can sometimes be a problem during the first few ignition cycles. Try covering half the air intake horn with some duct tape. That's the black tube on the bottom of the gas valve. If it fires up, leave the tape on for the first full week of operation.

It is a new tank, and the LP conversion is installed, the regulator is set for 11" w.c., though I am not equipped to verify that. I havent done anything with the gas valve, I dont think its adjustable anyway.

I'll try the air intake idea and see what happens.

update: tape on the air intake worked. It fired up right away.

    Thank you!
