Thanks, in your last shop with the gasification boiler, did that have radiant floors? If so, were you using an air or slab thermostat?

On the constant circulation are you talking about the garage slab loop? I wouldn’t want to send my 110F wood boiler water constantly through the slab or I’d overheat. I only have one mixing valve for the wood boiler (set at 110F) and I have 3 zones, garage/basement/first floor. So I would be sending 110f water into the constantly circulating garage slab every time any of the other zones called for heat.

As for boiler protection I do have it set up so return water has to be 135-140 or higher for the wood boiler pump to circulate

I guess to simplify it, I don’t care if the temperature in the garage fluctuates a bit being it’s just a garage/shop, not living quarters. I just want to stop the slab from turning off and cooling down so far because it takes so much energy to bring it back up. Maybe I’ll insulate the boiler a bit AND put a slab sensing t-stat in

I built these today, just kinda picture frame some roofing metal and that have me a 3” pocket to pack insulation in. I used natural wool and it seems to be holding the heat in much better
