It's too hot. Help with Tekmar 256

Hi everyone,

Trying to get a handle on the temperature in my 1930's 4-plex apartment building with hydronic heating courtesy of a 1990's Weil-McClain (CG series) natural gas-fired boiler. Fin Tube Convectors.

The boiler control is a Tekmar 256 with a outdoor reset.

I'm having trouble stabilizing the overall temperature for the building. Even though I set the occupied temperature to something reasonable (65-68), the temps reach nearly 75 degrees.

This didn't seem to be an issue before the Tekmar was installed.

Curious if anyone can lend some advice on the proper settings for the Tekmar for my situation. Locaiton is Cincinnati, OH..

Thanks for any help!

  • Hello again. Circling back for any help. Seems my boiler is firing every 3-4 minutes.

It's 28 degrees today and the building is plenty warm (75 degrees F plus).

I've adjusted the Room setting to 65 degrees.

Min boil is set to 140 and high 175.

    WWSD is 52 degrees.

Are there any settings with the 256 that I can adjust to reduce the tempature?

    Thanks for any help!
