Rate my work!

Hopefully so far I've done a good job. Just put pressure on the boiler and manifold and no leaks (other than the plug I forgot to put in the taco air scoop, whoops)! Holy crap primary/secondary in black is a lot of work, and a lot of money. Domestic pipe, domestic nipples, and all Ward fittings, except the near piping kit for the boiler.

Yes, I know my basement is a mess. I'm still working on reworking my zones and am short a couple fittings, but it's getting there! I also need to wipe down the pipe dope and clean things up a bit.

The spirovent should be on the supply side before the circulator for best results.

It didn't need to be so difficult- you could have kept the piping low and come straight over the the closely spaced tees or even moved everything closer to the boiler with a lot less time and material. The air scoop doesn't need to be there at all, and the Spiro/tank should be on the supply side. The check valves on the return may or may not be serving a purpose (assuming there are IFC in the circs), but aside from those items everything is looking good.

    C+ for sloppy floor/workspace condition you loose 2 points from a B+ to a C+.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

a vertical air sep right above the boiler, with the expansion tank connection would be another option. Best air separation and an ideal ponpc for all the circs

Nice job on all the threaded pipe. Any leaks?😉

That header looks like it runs from New York to California!!! Ha ha. It's nice to have all that room to use, but I try to keep things more contained, compact, if possible. Besides all the other comments, the screw pipe looks professional, sqaured up and plumb with eachother. Ya did ahhhheyeght!! Not bad. Mad Dog

How long have New Yorker boilers been using Burham castings?

Does the zone piping need to be that large? It doesn't hurt anything but smaller pipe and fittings cost less and if it was gravity the piping will be much larger than needed for a pumped system. The zone piping size is dictated by the flow needed to transfer the load on that zone and the length of the zone.
