purge light flashing CGI 8 NG

I have a 12-year-old Weil Mclain NG CGI 8 boiler. The boiler fires up and runs for about 1 min and then turns off with the purge light flashing.

  • I checked for any blockages in the vent, it was clear.
  • I replaced the pressure switch, but the problem continued.
  • I bypassed the pressure switch and then the boiler operated normally.
  • The fan motor sounds ok.

Follow up:

I CLEANED THE PORTS THAT THE PRESSURE SWITCH HOSES ATTACH TO. THAT SEEMS TO HAVE DONE THE TRICK. MAYBE A WEAK BLOWER FAN TOO. WE WILL SEE.
