Tekmar 680 snowmelt control - control what?

I picked up a 680 for a great price. It'll save me from having to install a relay and a transformer.

Im using it with a dedicated triangle tube instinct modcon boiler. I'll use the 680 mod control for boiler output, tekmar suggests having the 680 control both the boiler pump and the secondary pump.

Ive used the 654 snow melt control previously and it only switches the secondary pump.

The instinct boiler controlled the primary (boiler) pump. Considering that the instinct runs a post heat cycle and is capable of using the modulating input to decide when to run its pump I'm unsure what is the preferred way to control the pump.

Let tekmar control the boiler pump or let the tri tube control its own pump?

Personally I would let the boiler run its own pump.

I think I'll go that route

    Thanks .

Just wanted to say that the 680 is super easy to set up and use.

    Built in transformer and relays.

Even easier for homeowners to adjust if needed.

Wish it was easier for me to connect to a bas net setup.
