Recirculation on a Rinnai RE199iP
I'm considering adding a recirculation pump to my new Rinnai RE199iP tankless water heater. However, after reading all the instructions for connecting to the heater, the plug they say to connect too isn't there. All the manuals are older so maybe they changed but now I don't know where exactly to plug in the pump into the PC board. I called Rinnai but they just say to call in a Rinnai Pro. I might call back to get a different tech but I'm not optimistic. The specs on my heater says it recirculation compatible. Has anyone had this issue?
Thanks.

You can do and it's in the manual. Off the PCB there will be a connector with a white tag that says cut wire to connect to pump. If you purchase the recirc kit by Rinnai either the HEPumpkitMC (which I highly recommend) or the HEPumpkitCR the pump that comes with the kit, plug into that connector
If you're not a licensed plumber, don't count on tech support to help you, for good reason.

Purchase the gtk03u kit and it should come with everything you need..
you may need the pump controller cable.
Yes there is no wires to cut. That was on the older RL series

Sure you can use the GTK03 kit but you still should get a control so the recirc doesn't 24/7 and waste energy and put wear and tear on your unit. You would need the MC-195T where you set timers for recirc times or the Control R and use an app to control recirc times or you could use motion detectors with the Control R as well. Those part numbers I mentioned in my earlier post includes the GTK-15 and either the MC-195T or the Control R
