I have a steam boiler in my house. I'd like to get more information on it. My house was built in 1923. I am including pictures for reference. Thanks for any help.

Suggestion would be it’s time to upgrade to a new one that is sized and plumbed properly

Why do you say that?

What's that stuff on the gas manifold?

Looks like it's been leaking, @jay15857. It doesn't owe you anything- I'm pretty sure it was installed in the 1960s or very early 1970s.
Where are you located? We might know a good Steam Man near you.

No, it doesn't leak. Works fine tho. That is some laundry soap that got on there when our basement flooded recently. I do need to wipe it off. After the flood, it fired right up. I was surprised at that.
