Free standing cast iron radiators available

I am renovating an older building and will be removing the free standing cast iron radiators. The heating system was steam but hasn't been in operation in years. Does anyone have use for them? I hate for them to go to scrap. I have 9 in total. 1 smaller one shown, the others are similar to the other 2 shown. Located near Cedar Rapids, IA. Contact me at (319) four 31-8947.

Though I hope I'm wrong, nobody wants them.

I went through something similar after switching from steam to underfloor radiant. I had five steam cast iron radiators that I spent months trying to get rid of. I literally could not give them away, even when I offered to drop them off. I called every HVAC place in town. You're facing two problems: it's pretty rare for a steam cast iron radiator to break, so nobody needs to replace them and nobody is building new homes with steam cast iron radiators.

In the entire midwest, I found one guy in Duluth (Northland Radiators) who had any interest. Had my radiators been more decorative, he might have made the drive to pick them up for free. Alas, mine were pretty plain jane. Yours look more ornate, maybe he'd make the long drive for nine of them?

I finally recycled them and got $35 which is a real shame. Good luck.

I wish you were nearby! I’m in western MA and am looking for some of these. I looked on Craigslist last week and the only ones on there are being listed for ridiculous prices, like hundreds of dollars EACH. Crazy. I hope they find a nice home.

Au Contraire! Those have raised filagree....They ARE worth much more than smooth cast iron. The problem is the cost to ship them. Mad Dog

If that were my building I'd put them back in service. Why waste a great system?

Any low (below window sill height) ones?
