How do I get the grey plate cover off (the one that protects everything inside) We have tried everything , yes we have removed the screws! hahaha. Even the new one that's not been fitted has us sweating…HELP please…….is there a knack to this, we can see that it has to come out square. My husband is afraid he's going to crash into the glass shower wall if it comes away by surprise!!!

    once you take out the screws you can pull it out you may have to pull very hard. this shower valve is a worthless piece of carp. i had a post on it its plastic gargabe. grohe says it may not work in usa because its designed for a global market. long story but i will never install anothher ghohe product
