Weil-McLain ECO Boiler Display Flashing Red

Power to house blinked on and returned almost immediately. When power returned, red light on boiler is now blinking…..Help. :)

    Shut the power off to the boiler and wait a few minutes then turn it back on that should reset the boiler.

    If you had a power surge it's possible something in the boiler controls got damaged. In that case you will have to call for service.

    The red color means the boiler went into "lock out" mode. When it fails to fire after so many attempts it goes into Lock out. 

    To clear the lockout you have to enter the maintenance menu. Find the up/down/left /right arrows near the display screen. Press and hold the up and down buttons at the same time for a few seconds. The menu will open. Use the arrows and enter button to navigate. Clear the lockout on the diagnostic screen.

    Coincidentally, our Eco boiler went into lock out mode today. A tech from the gas company turned our gas off for a few hours today due to a gas main break. When they returned and turned the gas on I checked the boiler and found the display flashing red. After clearing the error the display went pink as it should for making hot water.
