Energy Kinetics System 2000 - beyond baffled!

have an EK1 Energy Kinetics boiler (20yrs). Hot water went out about a week ago. The System manager had constant call for hhot water. Due to age and sediment, I replaced the water tank, domestic circulator, main circulator this week and the plate exchanger 6 mths ago. I hose flushed the plate exchanger and got great flow thru both boiler & domestic side. Re-installed & back flushed exchanger in the system again before I fired up the system -great flow thru the domestic side. Fired up the system and it took overnight to get hot water.!! Today I back flushed plate exchanger and it is slower then I would expect. So now I have hot water after 12 hours of heating (Kinetics says 20m for a 40g tank). The System Manager still has a constant call for hot water and never satisfies.

**** is wrong here, 20 yrs not any issue now even with all new parts still not resolved.

thoughts?

EK will respond they follow this forum regularly.

They would know more about this than I would.

    Hang tight.

    Pumps checked?

Was the water tank replaced with a system 2000 tank or a different brand?

Just a long shot….are the pump(s) flowing in the right direction?

This happens, easier than one might imagine.

Thankfully I can say I was able to finally resolve the issue.!!

Turned out to be a blocked elbow going from the exchanger into the tank.

It’s great to hear that you figured it out, @mtmprop , and thank you to everyone for good suggestions as well.
For reference, to troubleshoot this , we would look at the temperature rise on the domestic side and the temperature drop on the boiler side. That would have shown that there’s very little load on the boiler, and very little flow in the domestic circuit. From there we would look at why that flow would be so restricted. The plugged elbow is a tricky one, and invasive to figure out - excellent that you have it resolved.
