Lochinvar ER 252 Soft Lockout Ignition Failure

I have an ER 252 Lichinvar pool heater. Has run mostly perfectly for 10+ years. This spring I noticed a gas smell when I test fired. Discovered a rotted gas line. Replaced the 3/4” iron pipe line with new 3/4” flex line.

When done attempted to fire. Then got the soft lockout. Goes through pre purge then attempts ignition. Relay clicks then smell gas. 4 attempts and locks out.


I have replaced the igniter and cleaned to entire burner assembly. Still no ignition. Any thoughts? Could the new line have changed the gas pressure enough to impact ignition?
