I met Big Phil and the lovely Irene about 22 years ago when he found my Ad on Heatinghelp.com. He needed a new oil/steam boiler. We just hit it off right away...Football..Rugby..my kinda guy. Phil was on the ground when the Towers went down on 911. He buried alot of buddies. Phil rose all the way up to Battalion Chief in the FDNY. He started on the FDNY football team (Nationally Ranked) and The Rugby team well in to his 50s.....Cueball...his nickname, also MC'd all the Boxing Matches in his black bowtie....He was funny as Hell and a great guy to be around. I loved this man! He passed away just one year after retiring to the Carolinas with Irene and Jr.

We lost you young, Phil, but you lived the lives of 10 average men! God Speed and Scrum Down! Mad Dog

His widow Irene and Son Jake were honored by the turnout. They were saying it was a turnout befitting a Line of Duty Funeral. This Saturday will be the Annual NYC GridIron Classic FDNY vs NYPD Football Game. This year, Phil will be honored and his Jersey Retired and presented to Jake. I'll be attending the game if anyone wants details. It's high level tackle Football. Many of these players were D1 & D2 NCAA players, some CFL & even NFL practice Sqaud guys. Mad Dog
