Need replacement for existing L4006A1041 that has a manual reset
Hi there,
I have an existing L4006A1041 that I need to replace with a manual reset version of the same thing.
L4008E1156 - This looks like the model that I want to order.
The way the existing part attaches is with the cpillary compression fitting.
When ordering it can anyone tell me what the model number is for the fitting replacement or can I just use the existing part? Basically I'm looking to figure out which one I would need if I needed to replace it without having to remove it.

L4006E1117 is what you want. It has the same sensor and will fit in the same well as the L4006A1041 you are replacing.

Hi there,
Thanks so much for the reply.
On this document it shows all of the specifications for the aquastats.
The one you recommend sounds like it would work great. The reason I figured that the L4008E1156 model would work was from the option it has for the Factory-set scale stops at 140°, 200°, or 250°F (60°, 93°, or 121°C). I never want the temperature to rise above 200F or 93C so having that factory set stop at that temperature seems important.
Is it possible to get the model you suggest with that option or would it only come with the 100° to 270°F (38° to 132°C) dial from the factory?
I'm assuming there is no option to get it with the Horizontal or Vertical and it just comes with the remote bulb that would make it incompatible?0 -
Once the dial is set at your desired temperature, (200°F) it does not move on its own. A factory stop is something that may be required based on a particular piece of equipment manufacturer's specification, so an installer or service tech does not try to set it higher than the manufacturers design limit.
Are you having a problem with unauthorized personal having access, and they may try to set the limit differently than your maximum 200° setting? The control will not change on its own, so you may need to purchase a lock for the boiler room door to solve the unauthorized access problem.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

LI and most insurance companies require the secondary high limit with a reset button.
I’ve noticed more and more jobs that the insurance companies have clamped down and required changes be made within 30 days. I view some of the inspectors as bit power thirsty and make changes that are a bit extreme. I got called to a prison where the insurance company had given them 30 days to install a shut off switch on the boiler itself. There was a kill switch within 3 feet of the boiler mounted on a wall next to the boiler. Red emergency switch cover too. I think they tend to be excessive.

So if flames are shooting out, they want me to reach through the flames?
Florida prohibits reaching "over" an A/C compressor to cut-off, and that's just an electric motor. (Maybe a large one in FLA, but not like a home/prison fuel burner.)
