Update. The Image bug appears to be fixed.

Please delete this discussion if it is no longer needed.

I broke it! I'm good at that. Got this in another discussion.

property_exists(): Argument #1 ($object_or_class) must be of type object|string, bool given

Also, the new text box is somewhat more WYSIWYG, but large pictures get resized, and the resizing looks like an image from a funhouse mirror.

I DIY.

Example of resizing distortion. These three pictures are not distorted when cut and pasted into the textbox. They become distorted after pressing the "Post Comment" button. Some kind of bug with the the resizing software?

@WMno57, can you PM me with more info about that error you received?

Please use the image or attachment icon buttons to insert images. Thanks!

I have been using Right Mouse Click Copy Image to copy the image, and Ctrl V to paste the image.

Images are from search engines. The above post with the three images are from Duck Duck Go. Here is a test with Google instead of DDG.

    https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&sca_esv=09085fb6c895584d&q=beau+lafave+wheelchair

Then change the google radio button from "All" to "Images"

You should get a bunch of small image thumbnails. Click on one to get a bigger thumbnail. Click on the bigger thumbnail to go to the web page.

Thanks, @WMno57. When you post images in the future, can you please use the image icon or attachment button? It does not seem like the copy/paste method plays well with this text box. I suspect that’s what’s causing the distortion. Thanks!

Thanks Erin. I'll try out the other image tools. Also seems to only happen with images from DuckDuckGo, and not Google Images.

these are squished horizontally on chrome on my computer here at home but not on chrome on my computer at work and it seems to only be images posted after the change.

At the bottom of the textbox there are four icons. Two are related to Images. Upload Image (mountains) and Upload File (paperclip). The resizing distortion bug persists with Upload Image. Upload File does not resize nor induce distortion, but the image instead of showing up as a image, instead shows up as a clickable thingy in the post. Like this:

    update:

I now think this issue is common across multiple search engines, browsers, and image uploading methods.

A work around is to resize the image before uploading to HeatingHelp. For me this has worked with Microsoft Paint. I was then able to upload with copy and paste.

Resizing to no more than 800 pixels wide seems to work.
