Help with Steam Boiler Stopping

Hello,

I have a steam boiler that serves radiators on floors 1 and 2 of my home. The boiler also services baseboard hot water heaters on floors 1 and 2 via a scavenger loop using a circulator pump and a heat exchanger. All was working well until about a month ago when I woke up and realized that the boiler was not running, even though the circulation pump was. I checked all the thermostats and all were working properly (i.e., batteries were not dead). I turned off the master switch to check on the pilot light and other areas, but didn't find anything. When I turned it back on, everything was working fine. However, the next morning, the same thing happened. I again shut it off and turned back on, and the boiler lit up and fired both systems.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks,

It could be all kinds of things.  You would be best off getting a heating guy or VG electrician to diagnose it.  "Scavenger loop"  I like that usage. Is that your word or is that regional vernacular?  Mad Dog

Could be bad ignition control module or flame sensor. Or a million other things.
