Diffuser( retention head) Covered in soot Webster burner

Jalen_Jalen2006 Member Posts: 3
Doing an overhaul twice now the burner head is covered in soot. Now from my experience likely causes and correct me if I’m wrong: Dirty Fan cage, improper electrode setting and or bad nozzle. What do you think?

Could be a lot of things. Wrong set up of burner. Do a combustion test. Not enough air on burner, wrong nozzle . Gun assembly not position right, plugged boiler not enough draft. Oil pressure wrong. Air band not set properly .......................etc etc.

    Webster's site is here- https://www.webstercombustion.com/

I'd call them if you can't get this straightened out.
