Help...
I have a TEMCO Model 706-1 70,000 BTU imput/49,000 BTU output gravity floor furnace that has served my historic home for the 50 years that I have lived in it. Good thing it failed at the start of Spring. Had it done so in the dead of winter it would be a disaster for my wife and I. It's gas regulator failed. I have looked far and wide for such as I am told that the regulator for this old TEMCO is obsolete. Are there any places of firms that I can inquire to obtain a used or a new old stock gas regulator valve for this heater? Or alternatively are there any modern regulators that can be installed on this floor furnace that will allow me to set it from the top rod "MAIN Pilot Burner OFF: "MAIN Burner ON" and "Main Burner OFF" I do not wish to go into the crawl space our our 140 year old home to relight this furnace should it go out.
I have spent a lot of time trying to find a source for this regulator. Can anyone give a lead as to where to find this part?
Steve

How did it fail? I assume you are talking about a combination valve. IS the thermocouple or thermopile good and properly in the pilot flame?0
