Can Mepco 1E steam trap be mounted sideways?

As the title says, I was out today when a plumber installed the pictured trap - fixing my (somewhat expected) failure. Do you know if the trap will work mounted in this orientation? I don't see anything from literature online, so I am reaching out here.

No. That is not designed for that application. They make horizontal mounted steam traps0
