IBC Tankless Water Heater

Hello, just wondering if anyone has experience with the brand "IBC" (I think it stands for Intergas British Columbia) boilers / tankless water heaters. The house I moved into has an IBC SFT-199 on-demand WH powered by nat gas which was installed last year. I had never heard of this brand compared to the bigger names that make these products like Navien / Rinnai (neither had the few plumbing guys I know)

Just wondering if anyone has any opinion on how these compare to a like-to-like model by Navien / Rinnai etc

Yeah they are a good brand albeit not that well known. They are part of Rheem now (intergas) Parts seem easy for wholesalers to get, not sure if they do any dealings direct with homeowners or not

The IBC SFT is my go-to tankless.
I have about 10 installed. Very few parts.
    Simple to service.

    NEVER Navien for me...

so it's the best tankless on-demand WH in your opinion? or one of, at least
  • "Best" is subjective. It's not going to be everyone's best, but it certainly is popular. I've installed plenty of IBC, but never an SFT model, so I don't have any experience with them.

If I were you, I'd make sure the supplier is in your area and that they stock replacement parts because good-better-or best, things go wrong and you want parts nearby.

    Yes. Only 4 moving parts.
