Taco VT2218 Pump “RX FAULT”

Member Posts: 1
We just installed a new boiler with the Taco 00e Series VT-2218 pump a month ago. It was operating normally until last night it started showing “RX FAULT” and stopped pumping. Taco manuals don’t have this error code. Do you know what this means?

Hello @Junimo,
“RX FAULT” typically means 'Receive Fault' or 'Receiver Fault', which is a communication error, like no or corrupt data being received. Sounds to me like there is two separate circuit boards in the pump assembly and they no longer can communicate. Or for some reason it is in a factory programming mode and the factory programmer is not connected.
Have you tried powering it down for a minute or so and see if that heals it, it may just be glitched.
If all fails Taco factory support may help.

@Junimo RX or TX fault is a loss of communication between the two circuit boards and the pump would need to be replaced. Under the VT2218 part number on the motor data tag you will see a 4 digit date code ( today is 02/24 ) and if within 3 years you can return to place of purchase for a warranty. If you ever need technical support for a Taco product please call 401-942-8000 during normal business hours Mon-Fri 8am-5pm EST. We are closed tomorrow for holiday.0
