Boiler seems to take long for pressure to build, waisting oil

    you don't really want pressure in a resi steam boiler,
    lack of pressure might mean you're right sized on the boiler, with good venting,
    do you have heating issues?

    do you see heavy steam / condensation coming from your chimney?
    do you add water? frequently?
    boiler old? or new?

    post a picture or 2 of the boiler, floor to ceiling all in the same shot, from a couple of different angles,
    known to beat dead horses

    Steam or Hot water ? Assuming steam, not building pressure is usually a good thing, my steam boiler never builds pressure, runs at about 1 inch of water column (0.036 PSI).
    If your system usually built pressure and now it does not there is probably a leak somewhere.

    yeah, one more question,
    when the boiler does build pressure, what is it?
    a more upclose picture of the Ptrol, and controls side of the boiler(?)
    known to beat dead horses
