Wobbly Toilet Lever NOT Due to Inside Nut or Chain Slack

This Drake Side-Mounted lever --video below--is probably ten years old and recently it's started wobbling on its base, not due to a loose nut or chain slack. Doesn't seem to be any way to tighten it. I see that this polished chrome type is ridiculously overpriced, so hoping to avoid replacing it; will go to plastic if I have to. If it's just loose and will stay functional I have no problem with that. Perhaps I can disconnect it and take some pliars and press it back into whatever base it wobbles from.

I think Gerber uses a similar one on the Avalanche.

There are some very good replacement universal fit type flush handles you can choose from.
The big box hardware stores usually have them in stock, and will fit that toilet tanks side lever.
Yours is very much worn out.

The price for the Toto handle from Supply House seems reasonable to me for a high wear part that lasted you ten years.
