Convection Steam Radiator Valve

New York City is implementing energy efficiency measures for buildings, and as part of this initiative, they sent a plumber for installation. Despite communicating the need for proper drainage back to the radiator, the installation leans in the opposite direction. Due to limited space, adjusting it to tilt towards the radiator for effective drainage is challenging. If anyone has suggestions on how to achieve this or can provide guidance, I would appreciate it. Considering the issue at hand, I am considering hiring my own plumber to ensure the proper correction of the installation.

    Literally everything is wrong there.

Those TRV’s are to be installed horizontally.
the TRV senses the room temperature to allow heating or not, that thermostat is installed inside the convector cabinet so it’s only going to sense the convector temperature. To work properly it would need a remote operator to properly sense the room temperature.

The “professional” doing that is ripping people off.

I’m pretty sure someone else posted a similar incorrect install not too long ago.

A remote model would work . Use bricks or wood to jack up the vented end . Don't go ape , just enough ...

There was an error rendering this rich post.

Often times a hole is drilled through the cabinet  so the thermostatic head is in the room environment

Just when you think you've seen it all.............

This will never work. Besides the pitch problem, the sensor (labeled Macon) is inside the cabinet so it will close the instant the steam gets there. You need a sensor for remote mounting, as @Big Ed_4 says.

Also, the air vent opening looks too big. For a convector like that it shouldn't be larger than a Hoffman #41.
