The water drain on bottom is producing a half a gallon of water a day sometimes more . Water pump got burnt out and waiting on new one but should it be pumping this much water out?  Live in New England

That's condensate and it's a byproduct of combustion with a modulating condensing boiler.
It's normal. I assume you are waiting for a new condensate pump?

At 171 there should not be much water flowing from that tube?
What is the smaller Pex tube connected to?
