I have the above named garage heater. there is a part hanging down and I believe it fell out of place, but I don't know where it goes. The fan is not kicking on for the heater and I feel this piece out of place is the reason. Can someone help me and tell me where it is supposed to be? Thanks

    Is there a schematic?
Looks like a sensing capillary. It could be ambient and always been there. See if you can find a manual if no schematic.

So the burner fires but no fan? It's usually a bimetal helix for a fan control, so I don't think that's your issue, but not familiar with that furnace. Look for an elongated insertion in that general area.

If that copper tube is supposed to be inside the heating unit, it could be connected to the high limit and fan control. If it is not in the correct place, then the fan will not come on, but more important... there is no high limit. STOP OPERATING THAT UNIT until you find out where that copper sensor is supposed to be.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

I am not sure what is on the other end of that capillary tube but it may be an electrical switch that is activated by the temperature sensed by that probe (copper tube). My educated guess would be that the probe you are holding in your hand has fallen off of a bracket that holds it close to the heat exchanger so it senses the heat. Look for a bracket that might place that probe in a position as illustrated in this picture.
