Reconnecting a different old cast iron radiator to existing supply lines - 1/2" Valve

I'm installing an old cast iron radiator to a hot water setup that is slightly shorter than the original one that was in this space. The old one was connected to copper supply lines and had a 1/2" Hot Water Radiator Valve and union that was not angled and went horizontal. Seems like all radiator vales sold are all angled. Do non-angled radiator valves and unions exist in 1/2"?
Here is a photo of what I mean
The only thing I can find in 1/2" for a radiator valve is something like this:
https://www.supplyhouse.com/Honeywell-Home-V2040DSL15-1-2-Horizontal-Valve-For-Standard-Capacity-Radiator
What are my options here? A part of me is thinking this radiator will probably never come out again, so I was considering using a steel connector into the radiator, and then coupling it with a brass connector onto the existing copper line and skipping a valve/union all together.
I can get some pictures if that's more helpful.
Any tips appreciated.

Yes, but can that be used for Hot Water? Those are listed as use for steam and I've seen some mentions on the web that they should not be interchanged. Is it ok to use a steam valve in a hot water setup? Maybe it was that hot water valves cannot be used with steam, but steam valves can be used with hot water?Shane_2 said:
In this scenario, what would be used as a union since they do not list a paired one? Just a brass 1/2" NPT threaded adapter?
Any tips appreciated.0
