    Really?
    1. is kind'a of cold.
    2. is a little warmer
    3. is just about right
    4. is if you don't want to wear sweats
    5. is getting a little too warm
    6. is getting ridiculous, so why do you even bother putting a TRV on in the first place

And I love Runtal for choosing this system

You don't get that call where the customer says "i set it at 68° and it is only 67° in the room. When can you come and fix this?

    They must calibrate these things…

40-80f is the typical range. Some brands have a liquid crystal temperature display in the knob. Caleffi had a display TRV, but I don’t see it in the catalog this year. The display tended to fad away after time.

    Or electronic heads.

There are too many variables with TRVs mounted on different radiators and locations to work all the same . Besides , temperature and humidity equals comfort . If one is too high or low your comfort is lost . Here in the states we are too fixated on just temperature . Just like the metric system the "Comfort Zone" makes more sense ..

There was an error rendering this rich post.

    They must calibrate these things…

I'm sure they do. but to what temperature at what location? Will you be installing the measuring device near the floor? Will you be installing the measuring device at the top of a panel radiator? Or perhaps at normal thermostat hight with the aid of a remote capillary tube. What location would like them to calibrate it for. The TRVs located on the radiator will certainly not measure the room temperature as accurately as the one that is placed further away from the radiator with a remote capillary tube.

I might suggest if you can not find a comfortable room temperature with the 1 2 3 4 5 6 setting, maybe you can switch brands of TRV to ones that use A B C D & F. I think they get better grades on most tests and report cards unless you use the F setting all the time.

I think my first attempt at explaining calibration settings above is the best you are going to get! My best advise: If you are cold, turn it up, if you are hot turn it down.
