new boiler options - Weil McClain ECO Tec vs. NTI FTVN

Looking to replace a leaking cast iron boiler with a high efficiency boiler + indirect hot water storage. Will be running 3 zones (2 fin tube + 1 cast iron), in addition to hot water. Have it narrowed down to these options -

Weil McClain ECO Tec 110-H + Aqua Plus 45
NTI FTVN110 + Trin & Stor S40

Both proposals by reputable contractors, with the WM option coming in about $1K cheaper. Would love thoughts & opinions on these options.

How was the sizing of the replacement boiler determined? The installing contractor is a lot more important than the brand of boiler being installed.

I don't have any experience with the NTI but the Weil McLain seems like a good boiler. Personally if I were you I would get another cast iron boiler or something from Energy Kinetics.

That newest version of the NTI seems to be a crowd please. They have a good team at NTI, good training and tech support.

110K is about as small as you might want to go if you are looking for top performance from the indirect. The output chart shows performance with 155K input.

It turns down to 11K, so for a zoned system that is a nice turndown. Also a 12 gallon boiler water content helps with micro-load days.
