Flow and return

Good evening. I have a scenario we're I am upgrading old glow worm open vent to Combi. I am replacing all rads with bi directional TRVs and doing the obvious reconnections and capping off in airing cupboard. My dilemma is that the flow and return come down into kitchen. Although flow is on the right and return on left. If I cross the carcass pipework over to the new boiler then I won't have space to fit a filter. My theory is that if I connect the old return as the new flow the only impact would be that the rads would warm up in a different sequence? Would this affect the operational output of new boiler? Any advise would be appreciated as I can't seem to get a defined answer on this scenario.... Many thanks.

What type of radiators? Some have specific supply and return connections.
Are the radiators series piped?Bob "hot rod" Rohr
