Dahl valves discontinued?

My usual supplier is having difficulty sourcing 1" NPTxU steam service valves from Dahl. They discontinued supplying the replacement cartridges a while ago.
I like using a Canadian valve, it is the standard across 400+ radiators that we maintain.
IF Dahl has stopped production, what is a suitable, domestic valve available?

  • I love Dahl valves. Use their hose bibbs, angle stops and partition stops.
    8.33 lbs./gal. x 60 min./hr. x 20°ΔT = 10,000 BTU's/hour

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab

How do they hold up? It seems like they are just sealed with o-rings and those are going to fail one day when i need the valve to work when the faucet or ballcock fails and ruin my day because i can't just open them up and replace a washer or some packing like with a globe valve.
  • @mattmia2 I've been using them for a long time now - 20 years or so - and have never had one go bad. They must use good o-rings.
