Carlin Pro-X 70200 Alarm Contacts

My Oil Steam Boiler has a Carlin Pro-X 70200 controller. I've looked at the manual for this and google-fu'ed my way around the internets, but I can't seem to find anything specific on the alarm contacts on the front of this.

I would like to wire up an indicator light to a more visible location in the house that will indicate a fault condition. (alternatively, I might connect a zwave/zigbee device that will notify me when activated by this)

Is that what these alarm terminals on the front of the controller will allow? They do appear to be NO contacts and run 24v AC/DC across the terminals, per the specs.

They're simply dry N.O. contacts. No power there. You provide a separate low volt source and load, i.e. buzzer, bell, alarm.
Anytime the burner goes into safety, the contacts close.

    Thanks. That works as well.

That's the only way it works.

I wish my girlfriend had Alarm Contacts... Then I would know in advance that I'm in trouble and could prepare.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

Yeah, I understand that. It being dry NO contacts works as well for me. Perhaps better for me, since I can simply get a dry contact input zwave sensor and done.

Question, I have the A contacts wired up to a Zwave contact sensor. I tested the wires before connecting them to the A terminals. It's currently showing closed right now, despite not being in a fault condition. In fact, the boiler started running and they are closed.

Will the close whenever it is in operations? Or are they "closed" because there are faults still in the list/memory and I have to clear the fault list?

Belay that. Something else what weird with the Zwave contact sensor.

Did you get the zwave working? I'm trying to do the same thing with a particle photon. The photon is connected to my wifi and uses a webhook to ifttt which sends a push notification to my phone. The problem is that the AA alarm contact doesn't seem to close or open correctly. Any help is appreciated.

I did and it works great. Or, I should say that it has worked great the times that an alarm condition was triggered. Since resolving the cause of my issue I haven't had any alarms.

On the current 70200 controllers it is configurable. You can set it up to be normally open or normally closed.
