Help! Buderus G115 Not producing heat

Hello,

Our Buderus G115 seems to have stopped heating up the house. We woke up this morning to the temperature at 56 (we had it set to 65), and the screen on the Beckett Aquasmart 7610A boiler control alternating between “Economizing High Limit 180F” and “Freeze Res LWCO: NA 57F”.

What does this mean? Do we need to fix something with the water if it’s low?

We thank you for any assistance you can provide, it’s quite cold out so we really don’t want the pipes to freeze!

A little more background:

last weekend someone plugged in a hairdryer and it temporarily cut power and the boiler stopped producing heat. We were able to hit the reset button on the boiler and it worked again for the rest of the week until today, Friday, when we woke up to the current issue.

Well, problem one is your heater appears to be on the same circuit as something else.
It's most likely something you can't fix yourself and/or you won't have the parts, so time to get your service provider in there.

I don't believe a hair dryer can cause the burner to go into safety. The boiler should be on a dedicated circuit.

I'm not too familiar with the Aquasmart, but it seems it's a low water cut off fault preventing the burner from firing. The circulator(s) are running for freeze protection.

The Aquasmart is the low water cut off, so if you have the manual, you might be able to reset it. Again, I'm not too familiar with them, but I know from past experience, a ground wire needed to be ran from the control to a domestic or grounded water pipe. They even provided the ground clamp. This was due to the well being plastic. Not sure if they're still the same.
Since it's oil, and needs annual maintenance, you should have a service agreement with an oil heat company.

Many odd electrical things can cause a burner to go on reset. Modern primaries/aquastats need a good ground to prevent interference and other issues.

    ---Time for a boring story---
The weirdest one for me, many years ago when my father was doing service and I was mostly running the oil truck was when this happened.

9pm (let's say Friday, cant remember) we get a call from a customer-no heat. My dad goes over there, burner off on safety. Checks the usual, nozzle, electrodes, transformer, etc. Doesn't find anything. Resets burner, everything appears to be fine.
Next day (Saturday) around the same time, same call, same problem. Checks everything again. Can't find anything wrong.
The next day (Sunday) no call, everything seems ok.
Monday night, get another call about no heat. I go along to give my Dad a hand. First thing I notice is in the basement, 3 guitars, amps, drums. I asked the homeowner if the 'band' just finished practicing. She says about 1/2 hour ago. Did they practice the same time Friday and Saturday. Yup.
So I can't say exactly happened except for maybe stressing the electrical system, or a bonding/grounding/neutral issue played some havoc and tripped the primary. Interference from the band gear? Maybe voltage drop?
But the band stopped practicing in the basement, and the burner never locked out again.
