Question. NTI combo boiler on 1900 cast iron radiator system. Primary loop circulator on return side of boiler inlet. Spiro vent expansion tank w regulated inlet water supply on discharge (hot side) of boiler in primary loop before 2) 1.250 tees 8” apart to make primary loop.
Secondary circulator connected to loop tee right at tee to supply radiators. Both circs run whenever call for heat.
With info on PONPC does the location of the air elm/exp tank meet criteria as it is after primary pump but before secondary pump in very close proximetry?
Would it be better to put on primary loop on inlet side of primary circulator?
Having some problems with air on upper radiator and gurgling radiators during heating season.
Have checked air at radiator and have found some hydrogen.

It is always better to pump away from the expansion tank. Will it make a difference. It depends on the pressure drop through the system.
If it is an old gravity system it probably won't make a difference.0 -
Sometimes the air purger in the distribution loop is better, even though it doesn't see the hottest water, it sees 100% of the system flow.
No reason you couldn't add a second purger on the distribution loop.
A hydraulic separator instead of primary secondary helps a lot with the purger location choiceBob "hot rod" Rohr
