Boiler + Storage tank sizing

I rarely had to size new commercial equipment but I always gravitated to www.hotwatersizing.com but it seems to have been taken down. I am trying to re-pipe a potable boiler plus storage tank system but want to double check the sizing to make sure I get it "All Right" for the customer moving forward. Are there any other resources I can be directed towards for determining the output of the equipment and requirements.

I thought Caleffi had a sizing guide in one of their Idronics. If not, I'd bet @hot_rod could point you to a source.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

@STEVEusaPA I was thinking the same but I only saw some residential size stuff.   So this is for an apartment and a dedicated domestic boiler with storage tanks.

@hot_rod the Wdc doesn’t completely separate the hot and cold.   Obviously you can put in zero toilets but I wouldn’t know how much that account for hot and cold on the “mixed” fixtures.

Hi, I know this is a long shot, but do you have time to install a recording water meter on the cold inlet to the present tank and watch it for a few days? That would give you an idea what the maximum hourly demand is and allow you to size the replacement based on real usage.

Not a bad idea @Larry Weingarten
If anyone else was wondering about the hot water sizing website I discovered today you have to visit http:// and not https://

I think all the water heater manufacturers have sizing info  for commercial tanks on their websites

when we are sizing PRVs we use all fixtures in the WDC

when we are sizing mixing valves, we drop toilets and hose bibs
